Priya Nimbalkar is a passionate designer, educator and a pivotal member of BNCA’s design team, bringing over 14 years of teaching experience and 15+ years in professional design practice. She thrives at the intersection of research and creativity, guiding students to think critically, communicate visually with clarity and solve problems through practical, studio-based learning.
Her work focuses on design practices that apply the Design Thinking process to research-driven and user-centered solutions. Having excelled in her master’s thesis in Packaging Design, she guides students to approach design as a process of experimentation and reflective problem-solving. Her teaching integrates studio practice, real-world projects and reflective learning, with a strong emphasis on understanding individual student needs and supporting them in navigating academic challenges. Through a problem-solving–oriented approach, she helps students develop conceptual clarity alongside practical and professional design skills.
Currently teaching Design Studio: Integrated Design Projects and Spatial Design Fundamentals.
Teaching Philosophy: Priya fosters a student-centered interior design studio environment that blends experiential learning, material exploration, and technical rigor with reflective critique. Her approach prepares students to make confident, expressive design decisions while cultivating creativity, critical thinking, and a strong design process.
