Student Utilities

The Institute Induction & Orientation program is a special initiative to welcome new students to the institute and help them adjust to the academic and social environment. The program aims to:

  • Introduce the students to the vision, mission, values and culture of the institute
  • Familiarize the students with the academic policies, rules and regulations, facilities and resources available at the institute
  • Provide the students with opportunities to interact with their peers, seniors, faculty and staff members and build a sense of community and belongingness
  • Enhance the students’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities as learners and citizens
  • Develop the students’ skills and attitudes for academic success and personal growth
  • Inspire the students to pursue their interests and passions and contribute to the society

 

The program consists of various activities such as:

  • Inaugural ceremony and address by the director, dean, head of department and other dignitaries
  • Campus tour and orientation to various departments, labs, libraries, hostels, sports complex, Museum, Anna Samadhi etc.
  • Ice-breaking and team-building games and exercises.
  • Sessions on academic planning, time management, study skills, communication skills, etc.
  • Workshops on ethics, values, diversity, gender sensitivity, social responsibility, etc.
  • Cultural events and performances by students and faculty
  • Introduction to LMS (learning Management system)
  • Motivational Speech by our “Principal” Dr. Anurag Kashyap

 

The program is designed to be interactive, engaging and fun for the students. It is expected that by the end of the program, the students will have a clear understanding of the institute’s expectations and standards, a positive attitude towards learning and a strong bond with their classmates and teachers.

The Institute learning Management system (LMS) is a web-based software that enables the institute to manage and deliver various learning activities for its students and staff. The LMS has the following features and benefits:

  • It allows the institute to create and offer courses, batches, syllabus, assignments, quizzes, etc. in different modes such as online, offline, blended, etc.
  • It enables the students to access the learning materials, submit their work, take tests, view their grades, feedback, etc. from anywhere and anytime.
  • It facilitates the staff to plan, monitor, evaluate and report on the learning progress and performance of the students, as well as their own professional development.
  • It integrates with various external tools and platforms such as G Suite, Microsoft Teams, etc. to enhance the learning experience and outcomes.
  • It provides a user-friendly interface, dashboard and analytics to manage and track all the learning activities and data in one place.

 

The LMS is designed to meet the needs and expectations of the modern learners and educators. It helps the institute to provide quality education, improve student engagement and retention, and achieve its academic goals.

The BNCA Students Council is a body of elected representatives from the student community that acts as a bridge between the students and the institute administration. The council has the following objectives and functions:

  • To voice the opinions, concerns and grievances of the students and seek solutions from the institute authorities
  • To promote and facilitate the academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the students and enhance their learning experience
  • To organize and coordinate various events, programs, workshops, competitions, etc. for the students and showcase their talents and achievements
  • To foster a culture of leadership, teamwork, innovation and social responsibility among the students and encourage them to take up various initiatives and projects
  • To maintain a cordial and harmonious relationship with the faculty, staff, alumni and other stakeholders of the institute
  • To uphold the values, vision and mission of the institute and work towards its growth and development

 

The “BNCA Student Council” consists of various portfolios such as:

  • President: The leader and spokesperson of the ISC who oversees all the activities and operations of the council and liaises with the institute administration
  • Vice President (Academics): The in-charge of all the academic matters related to the students such as curriculum, feedback, mentoring, etc.
  • Vice President (Discipline): The in-charge of ensuring that the students follow the rules and regulations of the institute and maintain discipline and decorum
  • Vice President (Events): The in-charge of planning, organizing and executing various events, programs, workshops, competitions, etc. for the students
  • Vice President (Alumni & E-Cell): The in-charge of establishing and strengthening the network with the alumni and fostering entrepreneurship among the students
  • Vice President (Physical Fitness & CSR): The in-charge of promoting physical fitness and well-being among the students and engaging them in social service activities

 

The “BNCA Student Council” works with dedication, transparency and accountability to serve the best interests of the students and the institute.

The BNID Design Students Alumni is a network of former students who have graduated from the Design Institute, a prestigious institution that offers various courses in design. The BNID has the following purposes and activities:

  • To foster a sense of belonging and pride among the alumni and celebrate their achievements and contributions in the field of design
  • To facilitate the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences among the alumni and with the current students and faculty of the institute
  • To provide mentorship, guidance and support to the current students and help them in their academic and career pursuits
  • To organize various events, programs, workshops, reunions, etc. for the alumni and the institute community
  • To collaborate with the institute administration and other stakeholders in enhancing the quality and reputation of the institute and its programs
  • To contribute to the social and economic development of the society through design interventions and innovations

 

The BNID consists of various locations in India and outside India, domains of interest, batches of graduation, etc. The BNID also maintains an active online presence through its website, social media platforms, newsletters, etc. The BNID is a valuable resource for the institute and its students, as well as for the design industry and society at large.

The Design Institute Curricular Activities (DICA) are the learning activities that are part of the academic curriculum of the design courses offered by the institute. The DICA aim to provide the students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills and creative abilities required for their chosen domains of design. The DICA include the following types of activities:

The Design Institute Extra Curricular Activities (BNID) are the activities that are not part of the academic curriculum but are related to the field of design or enhance the overall development of the students. The BNID aim to provide the students with opportunities to explore their interests, passions and talents, as well as to develop their skills, personality and values. The BNID include the following types of activities:

 

  • Clubs: The groups or associations formed by the students or faculty members based on common interests or goals related to design or other fields such as arts, culture, sports, social service, etc.
  • Competitions and festivals:The events or programs where the students participate or showcase their design work or projects in various domains such as graphic design, product design, etc. to compete with other students or institutes or to celebrate “design culture and creativity”
  • Workshops and seminars: The short-term intensive training programs or formal presentations or discussions conducted by experts or professionals from the design industry on various design topics.
  • Internships and projects:The opportunities for the students to work with various design organizations, companies, agencies, etc. to gain practical experience and exposure to the real-world design problems and solutions
  • Exchange programs and study tours (National and international):The opportunities for the students to visit or study in other design institutes, organizations, events, etc. in other cities or countries to learn from different design cultures and practices

 

The BNID-extra Curricular Activities are designed to be voluntary, flexible and fun for the students. They help the students to broaden their horizons, network with other designers and professionals, and showcase their potential and achievements in the design industry.

The various Scholarship in Design Institute are the financial aid or assistance offered to the deserving and meritorious students who want to pursue their education in the field of design. The scholarships are offered by various sources such as the design institutes themselves, the private organizations, the foundations, etc. The scholarships are based on various criteria such as academic performance, entrance exam score, portfolio, interview, financial need, etc. The scholarships may cover full or partial tuition fees, hostel fees, books and materials, travel expenses, etc. Some of the scholarships available for design students are:

  • BNID Merit Scholarship:This scholarship is offered by the BNCA to the student who scores the highest marks in the first semester of the undergraduate degree. 25 percent of the academic fees is given as the scholarship¹ for Four student.

 

  • MKSSS Scholarship:This scholarship is offered by the MKSSS  with the support ( Various Company or foundation) to the students who belong to socially and economically needy groups. The scholarship covers 50% tuition fees and 50% Baya Karve hostel fees. No of student- 4

 

  • Innovative Design Scholarships (Final Year Thesis):These scholarships are offered by various organizations and foundations to the students who want to pursue Master Design (M.Des) as a career. These are some of the examples of scholarships available for design students.  Amount of 1 Lac. Check )For One Student.

The Academic Awards & Achievements are the recognitions or honors that a student receives for their academic performance or excellence. These may include various accomplishments such as grades, scholarships, prizes, competitions, honors, distinctions, etc. The academic awards and achievements can demonstrate the student’s knowledge, skills, abilities and potential in their chosen field of study or interest. The academic awards and achievements can also enhance the student’s resume and increase their chances of getting admission to higher education or a job.

Academic awards and achievements are:

  • Valedictorian:This is the highest academic honor given to the student who has the highest grade point average in their graduating class.
  • Dean’s List:This is a list of students who have achieved a high grade point average in a semester or academic year.
  • Scholarship:This is a financial aid or grant given to a student based on their academic merit, need, talent, etc.
  • Prize:This is a reward or recognition given to a student for winning a competition, contest, etc. related to their academic subject.
  • Honor Society:This is an organization that recognizes and invites students who have achieved academic excellence or distinction in their subject.
  • Publication:This is an achievement of having one’s academic work or research published in a journal, magazine, book, etc.(student with Faculty)
  • Research Grant:This is a funding or support given to a student for conducting a research project or study in their academic field or subject.
  • Patent:This is an achievement of having one’s invention or innovation protected by law and registered as one’s intellectual property.
  • Award: This is a general term for any type of recognition or honor given to a student for their academic achievement or excellence.
